Meet Aaron
Meet sweet, loveable Aaron. This one-year-old Pyrenees mix was rescued as a stray from a Texas animal shelter in April 2023. Even though Aaron is a big (still growing) boy, he thinks he's a lap dog and regularly crawls up to report for cuddles. Aaron has a fun, happy-go-lucky attitude and is the life of the party! He loves a good chew toy and shares well with his canine foster sisters. Aaron definitely has the energy and goofiness of a puppy and will get his foster sisters riled up for a game of tag, but he does a good job of settling down one the fun is over.
Aaron adores pack play of any kind. He will require a resident playmate to continue to expand on his excellent pack manners and guide him as he grows into an adult. He HATES missing out on the fun (major FOMO) and often can be found following his foster siblings or humans around wherever they go! He is curious about cats and doesn't quite understand why they may not want to play with him, but has been very gentle as he builds relationships with his two feline foster sisters. Aaron is peaceful in his crate at night, during mealtimes, and when his foster family leaves the house. Aaron is a fast learner and doing well on basic commands (sit, hold, down), eats well (adores all food), and is learning how to travel in a car.
If you Aaron would be the perfect addition to your active and fun-loving family, please fill out an application today!
PUPPIES ARE ONLY PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOGS WHO ARE AT LEAST 50 POUNDS.
Our requirements for puppy adoptions are simple and necessary.
Our puppies are not livestock guardians, they are family pets that live inside of the family home.
Puppies must be placed in homes with a youthful, adult resident dog of similar size. This gives the puppy a mentor and a solid foundation for becoming part of the family.
Puppies are only adopted to homes with someone at home at least part of the day. If no one is home for 6-8 hours at a time, please do not apply.
Preference is always given to those with Great Pyrenees experience.
Applicants must have secure, visible fencing and a socialization plan in place.
The fastest way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. Adoption is not first come, first served. GPRS and its fosters work diligently to find the right fit for each and every unique dog and puppy.
Applicant's personal pets must be current on vaccines & heartworm/flea prevention and be altered.
Adoption fee: $450 (Adoption fee includes spay or neuter, distemper/parvo vaccines, flea preventative, deworming, and health certificate for travel). Adopters pay the cost of transport services outside of Texas area. Transport costs depend on location and size of the Great Pyrenees adopted.
