Abandoned Pet Rescue
Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida with the mission of rescuing abandoned and abused cats and dogs and finding them new homes. APR's shelter houses 150 cats and 35 dogs that all receive nutritious meals, veterinary care, enrichment and love.
APR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteers who were trapping, spaying and neutering feral cats and quickly realized the greater need to help abandoned pets and advocate for a no-kill community. APR is funded solely by generous donors and grants.
Fill out an adoption application and an APR team member will contact you to schedule a meet and greet with the pet(s).
Please note that APR does not do same day adoptions and takes multiple applications on each animal in an effort to best match pets and families. You must be at least 21 years to adopt and have never been convicted of animal cruelty or neglect. APR may do home visits.
