Affection is sterilized, microchipped, and fully vaccinated, and will have a rabies titer test done before leaving Egypt to ensure she is negative for rabies.

In Egypt; once a cat is around the age of six months they are put on the streets to live out thier days. Typically what happens is they die a slow and painful death, but some are lucky and picked up early. Affection was one of the lucky cats. We do not work with breeders or buy our cats from breeders. Each and everyone has been put outside to survive at the hands of their families. Persian cats require extra care and we request prior Persian cat ownership in order to adopt one of our cats.

All of our cats for adoption are sterilized, fully vaccinated, treated for fleas/worms, are negative for FIV/FELV, and have a registered microchip, and come with their travel crate. Adoptions are on a cost-recovery basis and are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Native Mau Cats of Egypt are the oldest known descendants of Egyptian domesticated cats (which have provided a partial foundation for the recent Egyptian Mau cat breed), and they are one of only a few naturally occurring, small, spotted cats in the world. Adoptions are on a cost-recovery basis and by an approved application. NVEcats aims to increase education in Egypt and around the world about these magnificent and intelligent cats.

Cats and kittens are not adopted out on a first-come, first-serve basis. We choose to match our applicant and cats based on what we deem as best suited for that particular cat or kitten.
