ALONZO so wanted to be home for XMAS- in a nice WA home that he can call his own! So, now let's work on ! primarily rescues (one dog at a time) from high kill CA shelters.
The situation and the damage that is done to these incarcerated dogs is unbelievable.
ALONZO came to ADR that way.
The founder gave him the name ALONZO.
ALONZO came up with a trusted ground transport /.
(like most of 's rescued dogs) and has now been a month living with the founder of on Orcas Island.
Enough time for assessment, socialization with other dogs.
Alonzo is a Border Collie/Retriever mix, weights now 47lbs, is about 2-4 yrs.
old and came to the Palmdale shelter in CA as stray weighting barely 39 lbs.
When admitted to the vet clinic he was diagnosed with canine pneumonia and was over 3 weeks in isolation.
He has gladly fully recovered.
All dogs adopted through are altered, microchipped, fully vaccinated (Rabies, Distemper/parvo, Leptospirosis, Bordetella, Furthermore, you will have their shelter record and a full bloodwork report.
ALONZO is a pure soul, gentle and inexperienced about most things and will be thriving to learn more with you.
We do not know how he is withy cats or children under teenager age.
From oversedations though we would recommend a calm home where people would be willing to really pay attention to him and teach him attention and focus.
assumes that ALONZO might be one of the "Covid" dogs - meaning pulled from a shelter eventually or purchased as a fill in for missing distraction but then after COVID left alone or worse abandoned somewhere.
Shelters were facing so many dogs being returned just because people then did not "need/want" them anymore.
SHOW him that you are different.
If you are interested in hearing more about him, contact me, the founder of by emailing and tell me something about you and why you think you want to give ALONZO a home that I so wish for him.
Let me know a bit about you in the email, add some photos and we will have a phone call then to discuss more and get to know each other better.
