Hello friends!! My name is Andy and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Border Collie/Lab mix Age: approx.
1 year Gender: Male Weight: lbs Height (paws to shoulders): TBD Length (nose to bum): TBD Current Location: Texas RESCUE STORY - My mama, a Texas stray, wandered up to a random woman's house while pregnant with me and my littermates.
She had her babies under this woman's porch.
The woman called County Roads Rescue and they brought us all in to their care after a few months (they have a wait list because there's sooo many homeless doggies in Texas).
I have been at the shelter since June now and I am sooo ready to finally go to my forever home! TEMPERAMENT - I am a medium energy boy with loads of love to give! Although I can be shy upon first introductions, I warm up quickly especially if you have treats! I can be very excited and playful when I'm with other dogs, but I can also be calm and just hang out.
I loveee to cuddle or just sit next to my person- really I just want to be loved (and I think I'm darn deserving at this point!).
I love going for walks (although sometimes I take the leash and try to walk myself, hehe).
Guilty pleasure: I like to stop every few feet to "give hugs"- which is something my rescuers are working on me with.
I am super gentle in my jump-up-hugs, but it's a habit my rescuers want me to break so that I'm a well mannered gentleman.
I am looking for a moderately active family who has the time and energy to take me for lots of walks, play with me, and give me all the attention that I need! I promise we'll have a blast together! ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate - I play hard but I crash hard too! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids I have met some older children (video coming soon) and did great.
as with ALL dogs, I should always be supervised around children and I need to have my space respected.
Dogs Yup! I LOVE other dogs and am always a good boy around my friends.
I have never met another dog who I didn't like! Cats Unknown PREY DRIVE - Unknown.
I'm not too sure how I'll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc.
My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.
TRAINING: Leash skills I do pretty well on leash but would love an adopter who is willing to continue working with me on my leash skills.
I jump up a bit so need some help breaking that habit too.
Crate trained - yes! House trained I am like 90% housetrained (I only have the occasional accident).
Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me solidify my housetraining in my new home :) Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges).
Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates.
WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.
HEALTH NOTES: I am a healthy boy who has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
I will be tested for heartworm, distemper, parvo, and Brucellosis before travelling.
NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted.
West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits.
These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $ CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my ground transport to Lynwood, Washington.
My adopter needs to be willing to drive to Lynwood, Washington to pick me up! :) ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process.
The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer.
WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible.
Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.
WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed.
These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.
