Meet Archie
Born in October 2021 Archie is a male Pitbull Terrier seeking a forever home. He came to the rescue when his previous family abandoned him at the vet clinic where his foster mom works.
Archie was in need of an FHO (an FHO, or femoral head ostectomy, is a surgical procedure that aims to restore pain-free mobility to a diseased or damaged hip by removing the head and neck of the femur (the long leg bone or thighbone). The surgery was completed and Archie has recovered well.
According to his foster mom, Archie is the sweetest and best cuddle bug/personal heater you could ask for! He is a kisser so if you aren’t a fan of face slobber he may not be the dog for you.
Archie loves toys and playing with his canine foster brothers. He does great with other dogs (large and small) and dog-savvy cats.
Archie is very smart highly trainable and food motivated. He knows commands such as sit and leave it. He’s not a fan of crates but he is working on it. He finds wood or shiny slick floors a little scary and challenging. This is mitigated with throw rugs and runner rugs in his foster home.
Car rides are a little nerve-wracking for Archie but he is learning that they can be fun! Archie is fully potty trained using a doggie door.
Archie's best-fit home will be an active one that includes at least one other canine companion. A fully fenced yard is preferable as he is not an apartment-type dog.
Although he does great with kids, we recommend if there are kids in the home, over the age of 5.
