Arnell Memorial Humane Society Inc.
Arnell Memorial Humane Society is a private, open admission, non-profit animal shelter. As the designated stray holding facility for Polk County, we accept all strays. We also take in surrendered pets by appointment.
Our shelter offers dogs and cats for adoption. We are small enough that we know all of our animals very well and can offer insights and advice to ensure that your pet adoption from us will be a success. We want our animals to become loving family members and a rewarding addition in their new homes.
Arnell is dedicated to the protection of animals by providing information, education, and shelter; encouraging adoptions; promoting responsible pet guardianship; and expanding the human/animal bond.
Arnell is funded through donations, fundraising activities, adoption fees, and compensation as the holding facility for Polk County.
Our shelter is open to the public, Monday - Friday, 12 - 5 pm and Saturdays, 12 - 4 pm. Â We are closed Sundays and Holidays.
If you are interested in one of our available pets please stop by the shelter during our regular business hours to meet them - no appointment needed.
If you decide you'd like to adopt we would have you fill out an adoption application, review it, and if all looks good you can take your new pet home same day!
**Please note: all cats must leave in a carrier and all dogs must leave on a collar and leash. We do sell these items at the shelter or feel free to bring your own.**
