Astrid fka Lux was dumped on the streets of Houston, Texas with a broken leg.
We were initially at this site to pick up another pup, but once we saw puppy Astrid, we scooped her right up.
We knew we had to save her as she would be suffering out on the streets alone, unable to take care of herself.
Fast forward a couple of months, and now Astrid is doing great.
She's recovering well from her surgery and doing great in her foster home.
She has learned so many new things, but mainly what it feels like to be loved and safe.
She was shy, timid and unsure at first (understandably) but has really come out of her shell! We think she is going to be a great family dog and would enjoy having another fur sibling.
She is very quiet unless she is alone and then she will let out a soft cry or little cute howl to let you know she's ready for some love and attention again! She sleeps in her crate all night but we think she would love to sleep in the bed with her people or other fur siblings.
She is good with the kids in her foster home.
She is working on leash training but is very smart and learns quickly.
She has a lot of puppy energy but that is also understandable given her age and she had a lot of healing time after her surgery.
We think she is about 10 months old.
We have guessed on her breed based on her look and personality traits but really we are unsure.
It would be fun to do a DNA test for her! We do know that she is sweet and so beautiful, especially those gorgeous blue eyes! If you'd love to add Astrid to your family, apply to adopt her today! Astrid is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas, however, she is available for transport to many locations!
