Meet Augie (Texas)

Augie (Texas) was brought up from Abilene, Texas. He is Australian Cattle Dog and possible Shiba Inu mix boy, who is about 30 pounds. He was previously living on the same property with about 40 other dogs in TX and the county made the owner give them up. He was adopted by a couple back in January but recently had to give him up as he was closely bonded with the woman and would guard her against all people including her husband. They asked us to find him a home where he just had one person to live with. Augie is pretty outgoing after he gets to know a new person. He bonded quickly with a woman, but it took quite awhile for her husband to be able to pet him. He is house trained. He also has a pretty decent vertical jump so we do recommend a 6' fence for him. It is recommended that he have a quiet woman who lives by herself, and other dogs would not be around much. He has a hard time adjusting to strangers, so would be most appropriate in a more sheltered home with his one human. He is neutered and fully vaccinated and micro-chipped and ready to start a new life. He had tested negative for Heartworm but since he is from Texas, he gets Heartgard one time a month. He just wants to find a quiet and loving home that will let him find his footing.
