Meet Babs! 8-year-old Babs was entrusted to our care on February 19th through the Final Wish Program after her dad passed away, and her mom entered hospice care.

Babs was very fearful upon arrival at FFF, hiding in corners and not eating.

Three days after her arrival at FFF, Babs went to live in a foster home, and we are very hopeful she will decompress in a calm environment and begin to feel safe.

What we know of Babs' backstory is very sad.

She was abused by her original owner, given away at a swap meet, and lived in multiple homes.

Her basic needs were met at her most recent home, but her elderly caregivers weren't able to socialize her well or help to build poor Babs' confidence.

We are committed to giving her the fresh start and life Babs deserves.

For the rest of her life, she will only know love, kindness, and security.

Thankfully, Babs is doing very well in her foster hom.

Her foster mom reports: "We are grateful to be entrusted with this sweet girl.

Bab wants to be near us, and the tail is wagging more often than not.

I think our dog is showing her how to be a dog, build trust and confidence, and no doubt that helps her feel secure.

Babs is letting us pet her! But only when she can see us and not too close to her head yet.

Slow and steady steps, which is hard because I just want to pick her up and snuggle her! When my husband left for work today and I was upstairs, she cried for him.

It is sweet - she wants to trust us fully.
