Meet Baker (NJ)
Baker is being fostered in NJ.
Baker is a happy happy boy! He is energetic and full of love! Since he was found as a stray, there is nothing known about his background or how long he has been blind. He quickly adjusted to his new surroundings and it did not take him long to feel comfortable in his foster home.
Baker is working with a professional trainer to learn better obedience, how to listen to commands, house training, leash walking, sit, down (lie down), and wait at the door. Until Baker is fully house trained, he doesn't mind wearing a belly band.
Baker loves his outside time, sniffing around the yard. The only thing he loves more is being next to his favorite person.
Baker is a tall dog and he can tell when something yummy has been left on the counter where he can reach it. Baker also doesn't hesitate to help himself to a plate of food that is right in front of him. It takes some human training to have Baker in the house!
Baker has the best deep low howl - it is like a slow bass lullaby. He will howl for a few minutes when his people leave him at home, but then he settles down and has a nice quiet nap.
Baker draws attention because he is such a handsome boy and loves to be greeted by everyone. All of the transport volunteers who helped get Baker from NC to NJ fell in love with him. He doesn't realize his own size, so it would be best not to have him in a home with small children who could be knocked over.
BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
