A little bit about me

I was surrendered to SPCA Auckland because my owner could no longer care for me. I am now looking for my forever home.
WHAT'S SPECIAL ABOUT ME
Basil is a handsome, happy and goofy boy who LOVES his toys. In typical lab style he has a huge toy and food drive and will sit to attention waiting for you to play fetch or do some fun training! He has quickly became a staff favourite, with his eager to learn, play and cuddle attitude! Due to my age, I will need to have people around for parts or most of the day, ideally not leaving me alone for more than 3-4 hours at a time while I am so young. This is to help with toilet training, socialization and settling into my new routine. I will also need someone to provide me with lunch during the day. I will need someone who is willing to put in plenty of time, love, and effort into making sure I grow up to become the lovely well-rounded dog I know I can be! I would benefit from going to puppy school or dog training classes and would likely thrive in agility or similar dog sports due to my breed/s. I could go to a home with dog-savvy older kids who are prepared for a bouncy and are willing to be involved in my training and day-to-day care. I could go to a home with another dog who is happy to share their space with me, show me the ropes and be my playmate. Ropes, balls and the beach are especially a favorite, so if you are wanting someone who will play tug of war or just hang with you as your sidekick Basil is the best match for you.
