Bear was attacked as a puppy by another dog which led to an amputation of the front leg. As an adult, Bear has now arrived to the care center after noting that he had not done well with the resident dog in his home; resulting in a scuffle between dogs. Bear has subsequently appeared uncomfortable around dogs, choosing to avoid, or growling when they are in close quarters (such as passing their kennel).
Bear initially displayed a high level of fear when approached in his kennel, and would growl when the kennel was approached by new people. He has since warmed up greatly, going for walks and showing affection to all staff.
Bear would succeed best in an experienced, adult only home. Bear would be happiest as the only resident dog.
