Meet Beau

Beau is a 1 year old happy, playful Beauceron mix that weighs 46 lbs. He is a sweet, silly guy that just loves to play and cuddle with his humans and other dogs. He is the friendliest pup you'll ever meet, and loves to make new people and dog friends everywhere he goes. This boy doesn't know a stranger and wants to everyone's best friend right away. He loves riding in the car, playing with his toys, and going on outings with his human. Beau's ideal family would be fun and adventurous, so if you enjoy hiking and going on other outdoor adventures then Beau is the perfect pup for you..

Beau is a medium energy pup that will require daily exercise and mental stimulation games. He would be a great pup for someone who needs a walking or hiking buddy as he loves to be outside exploring nature. He would benefit from having another playful dog in the home that he can run around and play tug-o-war with in the backyard. He really loves toys and would benefit from having a toy box full of balls, stuffed animals, and chew toys. He also loves mental stimulation toys, so give him a snuffle mat or a puzzle game to work on and he will keep himself busy while you work from home. After his exercise and play sessions, you can find him curled up on a dog bed or snuggled up on the couch next to his favorite human snoozing away.

Beau is kid and dog friendly, but has not yet been introduced to cats. He would be a great pup to join a family with both kids and other dogs because this boy is a social butterfly. He really just loves everyone he meets. He would do amazing with kids that are old enough to play with him and throw a ball around with in the backyard. He may accidentally knock over a toddler-size child with his happy wiggle butt, so it is recommended that there only be older children in the home that he can run and play with. If he is the only dog in the home, he would benefit from having doggy play dates or going to doggy day care a couple of times a week so that he can have playtime with furry friends while his human is in the office working.

Beau is kennel trained, leash trained, and potty trained. He gets really excited at first when he sees you pull out the leash to go for walks, so his foster family has been working on getting him to sit calmly before they open the door to walk outside. He has mastered sleeping in a kennel at night, but would love to sleep in bed with his human or on a dog bed next to his human's bed. His ideal home environment would be a house with a fenced in backyard that he can run around and play in, and would love to have a fun, adventurous family to join on lots of outdoor activities. He would do well in an apartment, townhouse or condo as long as he gets plenty of walks and exercise sessions each day.

Beau is in a foster home in Central Texas and will be transported once adopted.

TRANSPORT: Currently we have monthly transports. It will be up to the adoptive family to meet the transport to pick up your new family member. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot bring dogs for a typical meet and greet situation, due to the extensiveness of the transport distance and it being unfair for the dogs who are not adopted to have to make the trip back.

Please be advised that applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. To ensure we are honoring the dogs that we have committed to helping, we do have policies and procedures in place that we follow when reviewing adoption applications. LAPP Dog Rescue is ran 100% by volunteers, so please be mindful that when you submit an application that it can take a few days to be reviewed. Submitting an application is not a confirmation that the adoption will be approved/completed. Before submitting the application, please read the FULL description describing the dog's personality, energy level, housing requirements and our policy on meet and greets.

The total cost to adopt is $530, which includes a $300 adoption fee and a $230 transport fee. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormer, neuter procedure and health certificate from a licensed veterinarian.
