My name is Bella. I am 5 years old and weigh 41 pounds (working on losing a few pounds). I need a new home because my owner passed away. I am being fostered in Nampa, ID

I have lost a few people very special to me and life hasn’t always been so easy for me so I am looking for a forever home that will love me unconditionally & spoil me rotten. I was a bit shy at first when I was brought into my foster home but it only took me a few days to relax and trust that I was safe and loved and boy did my personality come out!

I love playing with toys, getting belly rubs, and laying in the sun with the family outside. I LOVE to eat but the stingy ole’ vet has placed me on a diet. But a couple of low-calorie treats are great motivators for me to kennel up or go outside at first when I felt shy.

My ears are a bit unique because I had chronic ear infections throughout my life and I will need my forever home to make sure my ears are well taken care of so I don’t have to have any discomfort anymore. My foster Mom tells me my ears are beautiful and make me even more special!

I would rather not be outside alone for very long & think someone who is home more often than not is ideal.

I need a family who will give me a few days to come out of my shell and then you will see what an incredible girl I am.

From foster mom: Bella is such a fun dog! She really loves to play and be loved on and will make whoever adopts her so happy when she comes out of her shell and shows you how special she is.

Housetrained? Yes, but prefer to go outside often so I don’t have any accidents

Leash-trained? Yes, I love walks

Rides well in car? Yes, I am a passenger princess

Good with other dogs? Yes, but I am a bit shy at first

Good with cats? Yes, I mostly ignore them

Good with young children? Yes, but I prefer old kids who know how to be gentle with me

Good with strangers? Yes, but I am shy at first

Shy or confident? Shy at first but when I trust you I really shine!

Barks? Rarely

Apartment qualified? Yes

Any Special needs or Health Issues? I need to lose some weight and my ears need to be kept clean so I don’t get any more ear infections

All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.

MABTR requires a fenced-in area from families who own their home, however, we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases, a leash law must be enforced. We do not accept invisible fencing.

MABTR only adopts to families residing in NE, CO, MO, KS, IA, WY, SD, ND, ID, UT, MT, MN, and SW corner of AR due to the lack of volunteer support in other states, no exception even if you are willing to drive.
