Meet Benji
Benji is an 11 yr old (approx.) neutered male, shih-tzu mix and weighs about 20 lbs. He is very laidback. He does bark when someone comes to the door but soon stops after being greeted. He loves belly rubs and when petted presents his tummy for attention. He doesn't like being picked up although he will sit beside you on the couch and is good for the groomer.
Benji is on a liver supplement given once a day
Benji eats well twice a day, one-half cup of kibble (Fromme Senior Activity) mixed with a little warm water at each meal. Once he's up in the morning, a toilet trip outside follows and then he naps until it is time for his morning walk. Another toilet trip outside in the afternoon, dinner around 5 pm and a final trip outside before bed. He doesn't ask to go out at any other time. Benji did have some accidents when he first arrived but they stopped once he got into the routine.
He doesn't go to bed until his humans do and then sleeps on a blanket on the bedroom floor. He won't use a dog bed, at least not the one he came with.
He is not interested in playing or toys. He does not like squeaky toys. He shows anxiety at the sounds of a storm.
Treats are given after his walks and each toilet trip outside and he looks for them.
He has a tendency to be grabby about food and treats and this issue is being worked on.
If another dog or person is encountered on his walk he will bark at them but not always.
On his walks he tends to pull on leash.
If you are looking for a dog who loves the quiet life Benji is perfect.
