Due to Covid 19 restrictions, you'll be required to meet at the Peace Arch Border Crossing to receive your pup :) Our adoption application can be found at the bottom of this pet's bio.
Once your application has been approved, we can arrange a virtual meet & greet with you and Bessie! Bessie is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up.
Meet Bessie! This gorgeous brindle girl is 3 years old.
Bessie currently weighs 60 pounds and she is fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and ready to find a family to call her own! Bessie landed herself on the euthanasia list while she was pregnant.
She was pulled into a foster home and her babies were adopted and Bessie was adopted by her foster mom.
Bessie has recently developed some reactivity towards the other dogs in the home so she is being rehomed.
Due to her recent reactivity to other dogs, we would suggest a home with no other dogs.
Bessie's foster mom describes her as having a moderate energy level.
She does well in her crate, but loves to go outside and play in the yard.
She loves fetch and her jolly ball! Bessie has not been exposed to cats, but we would suggest a home without cats.
Bessie is kid friendly and currently lives in a foster home with a 5 year old and a 12 year old.
She does great with the kids in her foster home, but due to her playfulness we would suggest a home with older children.
Bessie walks great on a leash and does not have any reactivity issues while she is leashed.
She will stay calmly next to you.
Bessie is fully potty trained and kennel trained! She does great in her kennel and that is where she's kept while her foster mom is away at work or out running errands.
Here are a few things that Bessie's foster mom had to say about her;
"Bessie is submissive and comes inside when called.
When she lays on the grass to sunbathe and you approach her, she'll roll over for belly rubs! She sits for treats and before exiting her kennel.
She is food and treat motivated.
She can jump a short fence so she'll need a tall fence.
Bessie is currently kept on anxiety meds because she's kept in a home with other dogs.
We strongly believe she could be weaned off of these meds once she's the only dog in the home.
She would love an active family or someone who will take her for walks or play with her in the yard!" Interested in learning more about Bessie or applying to adopt her?
