Beth is an adorable black lab lookalike looking for a new home to call her own.
She is full of typical adolescent puppy mischief and kisses.
She is rambunctious, playful, and eager to learn.
Beth spent a few weeks in a foster home in an apartment setting.
She is not the most confident dog and struggled with fear while outside her suite.
We think she would do best with a safe yard to access for play and toileting.
Beth's house-training is a work in progress and her new family will definitely need to keep going with this.
She has shown some dog-reactivity while out on walks, which we feel is linked to her lack of confidence.
Beth has not been exposed to cats at the shelter, but we anticipate that she will likely want to chase cats and other small animals, given her puppy antics.
Beth needs a home where the humans have a flexible schedule, as puppies cannot be left alone for long periods of time.
This could look like a work-from-home situation, or alternating shift work.
As she gets older, she likely won't need as much company during the day.
Beth is being exposed to crate-training in one-hours sessions.
Currently, she is comfortable being in a crate for three 1-hour stints throughout the day.
She will also go into the crate on her own for a nap.
Beth still jumps up.
She will need non-aversive, positive-based training to help her learn how to be the best dog she can be.
We learned that the parent dogs are both labrador/mastiff mixed-breed large dogs, weighing approximately 80 lbs each.
Of course, that is not a guarantee that Beth won't be larger than that.
Beth is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and has had flea and worm preventative treatment.
Beth's adoption fee is $350 + tax.
