Meet Blue
Meet Big Blue Socks!
Fostered
Directly from his foster-
"Hi everyone! I wanted to introduce one of my fosters, Blue. He's a 90 lb, neutered male available for adoption.
This boy is solid. He's also a world class plopper. (Plop is one step beyond sploot in our world). He's amazing on leash, and has benefitted from a two lead set up. His off leash recall is magnificent, but only to those humans that have established themselves as his pack leaders.
He's still learning how to play & interact with his peers. He does great with small dogs, and has no interest in our fowl. He's unsure of how to interact with dogs his size or bigger. He will need a handler that can reassure him that he is safe and doesn't need to be weary of his surroundings.
We have worked through his crate anxiety & he happily goes into his crate unprompted & prompted with a crate cue. He prefers to have his food & high value treats in his crate, where he knows he can really relax now.
This boy is medium-low energy. He's not a fan of long walks on the beach (or anywhere, really). He'd much rather play tug after potty time and then be a belly-rub-receiving couch potato. If you take him on a long walk, he will plop to let you know he's done :)
If you are interested in Blue, or have questions - please reach out anytime! Typically, the rescue requires an application on file to set up a meet & greet.
If he's exactly what you've been searching for in a furry friend you can apply for his adoption now!
Blue is current on all shots, healthy & neutered.
Please email with any questions.

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is one of the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! The rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!
The rescue will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 10,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes.
