Male, Polish Tatra Sheepdog, 1 years old, 95lbs Meet Bohdan! This gentle giant thinks he’s a lap dog! He wonders if your lap has room enough for a playful pup like him.
Bohdan LOVES to play, cuddle and get lots of ear-resistible head scratches and belly rubs too, please! He is just getting used to living indoors and is doing quite well! You can tell by his luxurious coat, that he enjoys a nice brushing and is a surprisingly good sport for bath time, too! Bohdan hopes his new person(s) will promise to continue to keep him looking and feeling his best.
Bohdan is a Polish Tatra Sheepdog and is considered a Livestock Guardian Dog, but he doesn’t bark much.
He had lived on a farm before recently calling APS-FH his temporary home.
His friends here at the shelter were told that he was a little too playful with some of the farm animals, but great with other dogs and children.
He had lived with cats as well and ignored them for the most part.
For his safety, Bohdan will need a secure fence for his next chapter in life.
His previous home’s fence ended up being too short for him and he proved himself to be somewhat of a digger.
Bohdan had wanted to play with other animals there and also found it tempting to chase vehicles.
If his new family wants him to protect their flock or other livestock, he will need training to do so.
It is unclear how much training and socialization Bohdan has had, but he is eager to please and knows his ‘sit!’ He is currently learning to work on his leash skills and is doing great so far! Bohdan has so much potential! Not only is he handsome, but this goofball is friendly, very loving, protective, and one of the sweetest souls you’ll ever know! All he wants in life is his person by his side.
