Bonzo, a 2-3 year-old sweetie pie, was rescued by Concern Citizens Animal Rescue, a nonprofit organization in Los Angeles, from a high kill shelter.
Bonzo weighs 59 lbs.
He is a real looker- and although his exact breed is uncertain, our veterinarians believe he is a mix of Rhodesian Ridgeback and possibly Amstaff Terrier.
From the moment he arrived at his foster family's home, Bonzo has shown immense love and affection towards his human companions, often seeking cuddles and enjoying quality time with them.
Despite his size, Bonzo behaves as if he were a lapdog, always eager to learn new skills.
He is decompressing nicely from his previous shelter experience.
While Bonzo demonstrates excellent behavior overall, he seems to have a reaction to small dogs.
Therefore, it is preferable to find him a home as the only pet or with large female dogs who can accommodate his needs.
Bonzo's unique characteristics include his love for drinking water, going on walks, and propping himself up on ledges to get a better view.
He thoroughly enjoys being petted, receiving kisses, and belly rubs.
It's worth noting that Bonzo responds well to commands inside the house and has quickly adapted to his new name.
He has become skilled at following his humans and is highly motivated by treats, particularly those made from beef.
Additionally, Bonzo is already house trained and will not chew, urinate, or defecate indoors.
Bonzo is UTD on vax and microchipped.
His neuter is scheduled for early March.
Despite his progress, Bonzo still exhibits nervousness around other dogs when on a leash.
However, we plan to continue socializing him and will provide updates on his progress.
