Meet Buddy, he is a 1 year old, 60lb lab mix.
He was rescued from Bakersfield, where he was found hobbling along a highway going to up to people cars asking for help.
He had a broken leg when we found him, likely from being hit by a car.
He just underwent a successful FHO surgery and so his exercise will be limited for the next couple of months.
Overall, Buddy has an extremely affectionate personality.
He gets along with dogs, kids, horses - pretty much everyone and everything! He loves spending time with humans and is very friendly towards other dogs.
Buddy is completely house-trained, walks well on a leash when calm, entertains himself with chew toys, sleeps on his bed through the night, and responds well to boundaries.
While he is now comfortable resting in his crate, he is not yet ready to be in the house alone in the crate.
His ideal home would be with people who are home most of the time and/or are experienced in helping train dogs with separation anxiety.
He is almost two weeks post hip surgery and will be able to increase his exercise regiment shortly.
Proper exercise will not only help his physical recovery, but will also help continue the training progress Buddy has made in such a short time!
