Buster is an absolute sweetheart who wins over the hearts of everyone he meets. In Buster’s world, there isn’t much that beats spending time with his favourite humans (okay, maybe an exceptionally good treat). Whether it’s going out for an adventure, cuddling on the couch, or playing (this boy is playful with a capital “P”), Buster is in heaven whenever he’s with his people. He’s also incredibly handsome to boot; this guy racks up compliments about his looks every time he’s out in public!
People:
Buster is about as friendly as they come! He loves meeting people, and is instantly won over from the minute he gets a treat or some affection. He loves making friends so much that he can get pretty excited at times, so he is currently working on keeping all 4 feet on the ground when meeting new people.
Other Pets:
Buster would make a wonderful solo dog or second dog! He is dog social, and has made some great dog friends both in Barbados and in Canada. Buster could also likely coexist with a dog-savvy cat; while he has not been introduced to cats in Canada yet, he coexisted well with some during his time in Barbados.
Crate & Toilet Habits:
Buster is house-trained and has never had issues waiting for trips outside to relieve himself. He has also developed a great relationship with his crate since he’s been with his foster family! He’s happy to spend a few hours during the day in there while we work or are out for an evening, and will quietly sleep 8 hours overnight cozied up inside. Buster is in the process of learning his “home” cue (go to your crate) and has learned to be calm and wait for his release word before exiting his crate when the door is opened.
Leash:
Buster is a pretty great walker! He loves to sniff and explore, and is generally a very calm walking companion. Sometimes he can get excited and pull a little when he sees something or someone he wants to get to (a squirrel, human, etc), but is very easily redirected and has already shown significant improvement.
Perfect Home:
Buster’s perfect home would be a medium-energy household that’s just as excited about playing as he is. Seriously, this boy would wrestle and play for hours with his humans if he could! Anyone who's wanted a sports dog (agility, canicross etc) who can also cuddle and chill might be the perfect fit for this guy. He’s still adjusting to the cold Canadian winters, but he gets excited to go outside for walks the minute he’s all bundled up. While he loves playing and adventuring, this boy is also an expert cuddler and is always very eager to snuggle with his humans for movie nights after some fun. In case you were wondering - yes, he’s very food-motivated (and is a very gentle boy when taking food)! Buster is currently being fostered in Vaughan, but would do well in most living environments, including a condo.
