Meet Caramelo
Meet Caramelo, a nine month old Boxer/American Staffie mix.
At least that is what we think Caramelo's breed mix is, we also suspect there may be some Goblin or other character from Lord of the Rings mixed in there, but that is up to you to decide. Caramelo was brought in as a stray with Cookie Dough and they got along well together but we always recommend a dog meet and greet if you have another canine companion at home. They were actually both found along with three cats. Caramelo did fine with those three cats but it is important to remember that new cats are still really fun to meet and to acclimate her to a home with cats might take a bit of time and reinforcement, just like with any new dog. Caramelo is still very much a puppy so we don't see any issues with her acclimating to a home with other dogs, especially if they want to play.
This friendly, active girl loves to go for walks and get very excited to say HI to everyone. Caramelo loves treats but she did come into our shelter pretty hungry so she is still learning how to take them nicely, a flat hand works best when giving her a goodie right now. Since she is treat motivated training should be a breeze if you out in a little time, she already sits on command! With a couple puppy manners we see her being a top notch dog!
If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire. A staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.
