Meet Cate

Hi, I’m Cate! I got my 5 puppies all off into the world and now I’m searching for a home. Let my mam tell you about me. She says I have the body of a beagle and the face of a pittie and the eye patch of a something else, which really just means I’m a Premium Heinz 57 blend. I weigh about 37 lbs right now. I’m a pretty calm girl… I’ll help you work from home (I specialize in moral support) and take naps on your behalf. I like to follow Mam around the house and sit at her feet when she’s home, maybe give a quick kiss so she doesn’t forget that I’m there. She lets me sleep under the covers on the big bed too! So far, no potty accidents in the house, no chewing on bad things, and I get along great with the resident canine. In fact, I’ve lived with a BIG canine and done great with him too! Now, the cat… she smells funny and I like to play chase. I’m usually the only participant that considers it play. I don’t want to hurt her but Mam does tell me no when she catches us. So if you have a cat, please discuss the play policies beforehand.

I’d really prefer to have another doggy in the home with me if I have to be alone during the day. I’m not a huge fan of the crate, so Mam lets me free roam during the day and I haven't had any trouble with that. If you need a buddy to be with you all the time, I’m your girl!

Note from the foster: Every year I get one foster that I attach to more than others. I drag my feet posting the adoption profile, I let them have more privileges than prior fosters, they fit into my life a little more seamlessly... Cate’s my 2023 Girl of the Year. I love this baby and this one is going to be harder to let go than most, but I’m going to make sure she goes to a family that loves her as much and more than I do.

Our dogs are fostered in Texas but available for adoption in various parts of the US. We have transports that leave Texas regularly. Our out of state adoption fee is $575 per dog. This fee includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations, a registered microchip, a negative heartworm test, health certificate, flea/tick monthly preventative and transport costs. The adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc). The adoption application and fee would be finalized prior to transport.
