1-year-old female yellow Lab "Clementine" Background.
Founds as a stray on the streets of San Francisco, Clementine is currently hanging out at San Francisco Animal Care and Control, where she is a rock star...
waiting for her new forever home.
Clementine running around -- Clementine loves those treats -- What the shelter says.
Clementine was found a few blocks from our shelter, eating trash.
She's a bit underweight and is one hungry girl! But she's not resource guardy or precious about her snacks, she's just very excited to be having food coming to her predictably and reliably.
She's incredibly sweet and SUCH a people-oriented hambone.
She loves walking around the shelter and wants to say hi to every single person and cover them in kisses.
She is completely one of those Miss Congeniality Labradors that makes friends everywhere they go.
Clemmy did well on her dog/dog testing; she seems a bit inexperienced and is a bit of a pushy teenager when playing, but it's all in good fun for her.
I think she would just be so, so delighted to find a family where she'd have another dog around and many many people to cover in smooches.
She's just one of those Labs who lives to schmooze.
What our evaluator says.
We met Clementine at the outdoor play area at the shelter.
Shelter staff said Clementine is really chill when she’s in her kennel.
Clementine was already familiar with the play area.
She immediately started running around in a playful manner.
Clem is less interested in people and paid more attention to toys.
She was very friendly and jumped up for attention.
On leash, she walked quite well and was responsive to my direction.
She responded to "sit" for a treat and took it with a soft mouth.
Clementine let me touch her all over -- no resistance -- but she was quite wiggly when I hugged her -- she is always moving.
Loved playing with a toy, but did not readily bring it back to me.
No food guarding.
After finishing the treats in the bowl, Clementine took the bowl with her and ran around asking for more treats!! Clementine loves to play with Elmo (another 2-year-old dog at the shelter).
She wanted Elmo to chase her, she’s super engaging with Elmo.
What Clementine's Rescue Rep says.
Not quite "Girls Gone Wild" but Clementine is an active, vivacious youngster with lots of energy.
Needs lots of room to run.
Will require a spirited adopter with an active lifestyle.
Presence of another dog could be great.
No idea how Clem is with cats.
Likely too much energy and jumping for small children or for anyone unsteady on their feet.
Great candidate for basic obedience training.
Medical.
Spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped.
She is overall healthy, but dealing with an ear infection right now.
