Meet Charlie
Charlie is a big sweetheart and all he wants in life is to cuddle. He loves bones and treats and isn’t so interested in toys. He is a great catcher if you toss him a ball, but he’ll likely just hold onto it afterwards.
Charlie is healthy and simple to take care of. He eats twice a day and we let him out a minimum of three times a day. He would love to go on more walks! At home he is low energy and doesn’t seem to want to play much with our other dog. He enjoys running a bit but doesn’t seem to need it.
Charlie loves everyone once he gets comfortable. He loves kids but is probably best suited for a family with older kids solely due to his size and huge amount of love he gives. Charlie can be weary of new guests coming over but once he is comfortable and sees the people are not a threat, he is cuddly and sweet with them. He is more likely to bark at men than women.
Charlie is great with our other dog and has been great with friends dogs too. In boarding, he keeps to himself and doesn’t interact with other dogs. In his first boarding experience, we were told he was aggressive with staff so now we take him to a place that is comfortable with aggression, although he has never shown aggression at the second boarding place.
Charlie is trainable. He used to sleep on the bed and love it, and now he is trained to not get on the bed or the couch. He knows sit, shake, down, go to your spot, “bang”, “out” (to leave the room), and come. He does well with going to his spot when there’s a knock at the door, but needs help with charging at guests once they enter.

Our dogs & cats are fostered in Texas but are available for adoption in Northern States. With stops in Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho.
These dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue.
Our out of state adoption fee is $600, which includes the transport cost. We will deliver your new dog to you at a partnering Petco location so it is safe. This fee includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations, a 24Petwatch registered microchip, testing for heartworm and tick-born diseases, and a fecal analysis. Dogs will be current on flea/heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of departure.
This fee helps us save other abandoned animals here in Texas where there is huge number of homeless and abandoned pets.
As an Apollo direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc.). The adoption application and fee would be finalized prior to transport.
