Please meet Charlie, he is a lovely 4-year-old boy who is looking for his forever home through our home direct scheme. This means that I get to stay in my current home until a new one is found for me, which is great as it means that I don't have to go into kennels!
Charlie is a very sweet and friendly boy, and his favorite games are fetching and playing with a tug rope! He will soon become your friend if you offer him a treat- they are his second favorite (strokes and cuddles being his first). Charlie is keen on playing with other dogs whilst out on walks, and sometimes this can mean he becomes a bit stronger, so continuing loose-lead training will be important for him, but training is good for building up a strong bond.
He can be selective with the dogs he is comfortable around, so because of this we feel that Charlie could potentially be homed with another dog that is calmer and is not too boisterous when it comes to playing. This would be dependent on multiple introductions at the center to ensure that they get along! Whilst Charlie is a friendly boy, he gets very overexcited by small furriers and cats so his new forever home would be better being cat and small animal-free. Charlie can live with older teenage children who would be able to respect his space, and also be understanding of his excitable nature.
He is used to being left alone for up to four hours, but this would need to be worked up to once he is settled.
