Meet Checkers

Please note: Checkers is currently fostered in East Texas. He can be transported to a foster, foster-to-adopt, or adoptive home. Checkers is listed in your area because we do not believe in limiting our adoptable pups/dogs to adoptive homes to solely one area or one state. Our team has found many incredible adoptive homes across various different states, including Colorado, Tennessee, Virginia, the Carolinas, and the Northeastern states.

Checkers - our big, hunky, silver stud! Checkers is about 2-3 years of age and is a Pitbull/American Bulldog mix. Don't let his breed stop or scare you! He is a doll and is so loved by his foster family (especially his human foster brothers!).

Checkers is a sweet, affectionate, snuggly boy in search of the perfect forever home. He is so deserving - and we are eager to get this boy in a couch! Checkers is great with children, but due to his size, we would like Checkers to find his home with children over the age of 10! The "littles" confuse him! Checkers currently lives with FOUR other dogs - all females, so we would feel most comfortable placing Checkers in a home with a female dog - as we have not had the opportunity to see Checkers with male dogs. He does very well with his canine foster siblings - and he is described as submissive to the female "pack leaders."

Checkers is mostly housetrained but will need to remain on a routine to help him succeed! Checkers enjoys his time in the backyard, so we would ideally love to place him in a home with a fenced-in backyard to stretch his legs.

Checkers is neutered and up to date on vaccines!
