Chester is a lovely little Dachshund of 5 years old, he is a timid boy who can initially be a little wary but once he knows you, he is extremely lovable! Chester is looking for a special home with adopters who can help him build on this confidence with meeting new people as well as a select few dogs. Chester does have some social doggy friends though and would like to keep this up! Any children in his new home would need to be of secondary age and be respectful of Chester's wishes to retreat and have his own space when needed. For now, Chester would be better off as the only dog in his home to focus on his continued training but keep up with his social canine friends!
Is Chester right for you?
Chester is currently in foster and his fosterer describes him as an absolute sweetheart! He is doing very well there and has found his favourite comfy spot and is happy to be left home alone for a short few hours but in a new home, this would need to be gradually built up. Chester does have a cataract in one eye, he has had advanced tests on this and as it stands, no further action is required and Chester is not in pain or discomfort with this. Chester has taken his second chance with all four paws and is giving his all to building his confidence and enjoying his new found temporary home, if you think Chester would fit into your home then get in touch.
