Meet the goodest boy there is, Chevy! This handsome stud is a 6 year old chocolate lab mix that can't wait to win you over! Chevy came to HAP from a shelter partner in Louisiana when they had no space for him. He previously had an elderly owner, who unfortunately could no longer take care of a pet. He quickly became a staff favorite for his constantly wagging tail and sweet face. He enjoys going for walks and chasing a ball in our fenced fields. He knows basic commands, walks great on a leash and is house-trained. Chevy has been great in doggy playgroups and even keeps up with the young pups. He is very friendly with all people and would likely do well with children.

In the meantime, you are welcome to submit an adoption questionnaire if interested in adoption! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog, but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
