Meet CHICO
Cheser and his brother Chico were trapped at Kirkland Correctional Institution when they were about 14 weeks old and very scared. They were so cute and seemed to want to respond to us, however, so instead of fixing them and sending them back to the prison as we do with the adult ferals we decided to socialize them and hopefully eventually get them adopted even though we had absolutely no room or time to do this with 100+ other cats in our care. We put their pictures on Facebook asking for adopters or fosters who could work on socializing them to give them a chance, but noone stepped forward, and once again we had to do it ourselves. This meant working with them at 1 o'clock in the morning much of the time, after we had taken care of our other cats. Fortunately Chico and Chester responded beautifully. They are now perfectly tame and would make wonderful kitties for someone. They need to stay together - they usually sleep together with their paws around each other and play together and get along great with other cats. They have a lot of purrsonality - Chico is the most playful and adventurous one, although Chester plays, too, but he's more laid back but slightly nervous at times. They love to stretch out and flop and sleep on their backs in cute positions. Chico and Chester are tested for feline leukemia and FIV, neutered, on topical flea control and have been dewormed. and adoption also includes microchipping
