Meet Chico

This sweet “Scooby Doo” senior is ready to find his forever home.

Chico is a estimated to be around 8 years old. He was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Texas with hours left to live (likely due to his old age and finding himself in a shelter). Chico is guessed to be a Shepherd/Black Mouth Cur mix. He is a big boy, weighing in around 68 pounds. He is heartworm negative, neutered, up to date on all vaccines and monthly preventatives.

Poor Chico has been bounced around from shelter to boarding facility - he is ready (and so deserving) to land himself a warm and finally safe home.

Although 8, Chico is an active boy who would love a big backyard to stretch his long legs in - and he would LOVE a companion who takes him for long walks - but can curl up in the couch with him afterwards.Chico's ideal home would be with older children an a high energy female fur-sibling!

Chico is currently in a training program in Texas and is impressing his trainer with how quickly he's learning all his commands! He LOVES playing fetch with the ball! What Chico in action:

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! Chico is currently being cared for in Texas and will be transported to his adoptive family by our rescue- We have transports leaving every other week!

Please note: FOSTER TO ADOPT OPTION AVAILABLE! Chico would do very well with someone who will give him the opportunity to adjust and blossom in his new surroundings. Our rescue team would be happy to discuss our “foster to adopt” program.
