Meet Clarence
Clarence came to our rescue last month. He had been hanging out in multiple backyards surviving on bits of food for over a month, no owner was found and he was getting thinner and dirtier - so obviously he had no home. One of our volunteers took him in, discovered he had a tick which was removed and he went to our vet. He was scanned for a microchip - none but then again he wasn't neutered either. He was checked over for anymore ticks, none and flea and tick prevention was applied, he was dewormed, received his FVCRP and rabies vaccines, neutered and microchipped.
A few mats were shaved from him and the rest was brushed. He is now in a foster home enjoying looking out the window, playing with his toys, sprawled out on a soft couch and enjoying the good life. It took him a while to get used to always having food available and that he didn't have to wolf it down right away. His adoption fee is $200. AVA has an indoor and no declaw policy.
He would take a few days to settle in to a new environment. It is always recommended to set up a new cat in a safe room where the food, litter, toys etc are. We are not sure how he would be around other cats and he has not been tested with dogs. He would be fine as the only cat of the house. He is in a foster home in Hamilton.
