Meet Cleo
Cleo is a 14 month old Merle female looking for just the right home. Cleo did not get a very good start in life so she lacks in many basic dog skills. She is doing so well and gaining enough confidence that it is time for her to find a new leader that will patiently teach her about life. Cleo does not need someone who is going to feel sorry for her, and she's not going to be the easiest dog to bring into your home. She needs someone to teach her, love her and also give her rules and boundaries.
Cleo is doing well walking on a leash, but does occasionally get scared and lays down. She can also bolt, but has come so far that she has not in quite a while. She knows how to sit and is very patient for a cookie. She is very good with other dogs, but that could also be her lack of confidence. She will need to go to a home with a large breed male to play with. She loves to play and even enjoys playing with the tiny velociraptor in her foster home. Cleo does not seem to mind cats, but that could also come out later. Again, early boundaries and training and she'll probably be OK.
Cleo loves her crate (it's her safe place to observe life) and does well if not left alone in a room. Again, boundaries and not letting her get away with it and she should settle. She will also submissive pee occasionally, but nothing like she did when she came so will likely outgrow that.
Enough with the bad... Cleo will make someone a wonderful dog with time. She is kind, and easy going. She loves people and attention, and will adore her new family. She would do well with older, respectful children. I think she would also do well with just an adult too.
She is thin, but is gaining weight slowly which is best. She has been spayed and gastropexied, vaccinated, wormed, treated for fleas and mites and has had entropion fixed in both of her eyes. Unfortunately she came to us with happy tail and we decided it was in her best interest to dock her tail.
If you feel like you might be a good home for her please fill out an adoption application on our website or let us know if you have one on file. She will be available to go to her new home mid March.
Cleo is located in Spokane, Wa
