Meet Cookie
Note: Cookie needs a new foster and is a good candidate to foster with the potential to adopt.
Cookie's Personality
Cookie is a very social boy who loves to greet you, hang out with you and lounge in your lap. He craves being petted on his head, scratched under his chin and behind his ears, and snuggling in your lap. Cookie is also a master chef - give him a soft blanket or bed and he loves to make biscuits! This sweet boy also has a lot of energy and needs plenty of interactive playtime. Toss a toy across the room and he races to get it and he loves playing "tether ball" - batting a big toy on a string.
Cookie is very comfortable and affectionate with his foster mom. She says he is one of the most loving cats on the planet. Cookie is not shy but he will need a little time to get to know you. When Cookie first came into our care, he would swat at you (no claws out) or nip you when he wanted your attention or was uncertain about your movements. Now that we understand his behavior, we know how to put him at ease and Cookie rarely swats or nips anymore.
What Type of Home Cookie Needs
Cookie needs a home with an experienced cat caretaker who knows how to let him settle in on his own and understands how to address any swatting or nipping. He is not aggressive - his swatting and nipping is defensive behavior. Once he feels safe, Cookie is your loyal companion. He also needs to be the only pet in your home and no children now or in the future.
Where Cookie Came From
Cookie was a stray kitty living outside fending for himself before he was even a year old. Luckily, a kind man spotted him outside and began putting food out for him. Over time, Cookie started to feel more comfortable and began to show his true colors - that he was a friendly kitty who needed a home.PLEASE NOTE: we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA.
