Meet Cygna
Meet Cygna (Sig for short)! Cygna is a female, 3.5 year old, German Shorthaired Pointer blend. She is the perfect medium size at 50 pounds.
Cygna arrived at the shelter as an owner surrender and is participating in our Adopt From Home program. She is kennel trained and house trained. She is super smart, she knows "sit", "stay", and "lay down", she is very food motivated, and she is eager for more training! Cygna is a natural hunter, and she loves to chase and stalk squirrels for hours. She would love to run for hours during the day, and cuddle up with her people on the sofa at night. New dog friends and new people can sometimes be overwhelming to her at first, but with proper introductions she can warmup to them as she gets to know them. Cygna isn't familiar with children, so it is unknown how she how she will do around kids.
Cygna will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. We do not know how she will do with cats.
Cygna is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, spayed, and ready to go home today!
