Purrlease ensure you have purrmission to have a cat where you live before considering adoption!
Sweet, darling petite, is our purrecious Dahlia. This sweet nugget came in as a youngster who was very pregnant on intake. She went into foster to care for her kittens and came to shelter when they were all weaned and ready to move on.
Dahlia is cautious at first, however if she comes right up to you for visits and love, then you know you are special! She loves to play and if you have some bouncy balls, Dahlia will wiggle herself silly as she purrances and pounces around the shelter chasing the balls! She does well with the other cats at the shelter in the communal setting and is a gentle, shy sweetheart.
Dahlia is going to need a very special home that truly understands the nature of shy cats. She will require time, patience and love as she transitions to her new life. We provide guidance and support as a part of our adoption agreement as we want to ensure the process is done at the pace of the cats individual needs. This helps the transition to be smooth, successful and long-lasting!
AHS will also purrovide behavioral support for the transition and more to ensure that everyone feels secure with the adoption.
Our adoption agreement prohibits declawing an adopted cat, and stipulates that the cat will be returned to us if the adoption does not work out. This also applies if the adopter is no longer able to keep the cat or is able to purrovide him/her with the necessary healthcare to maintain a healthy and happy life.
For the first 30 days, cats who do not work out in their new homes may be returned for a refund or exchanged for another, more suitable, cat.
