Meet Dean
This handsome 2 yr old border collie (shepherd?) mix weighs in at about 65 lbs and is HW-, up to date on shots, and neutered,
He's a sweet guy who is crate-trained and knows sit and lay down. Dean is intelligent, food motivated, and responds well to tone of voice. So far, training has been a breeze!
Dean is a very mellow dude who prefers to simply lounge around inside and maybe casually retrieve a toy if you toss it, but he has plenty of energy to walk or run with you once outside.
Dean has pretty good leash manners and has been friendly towards the other dogs we've encountered so far! We think he was an indoor dog previously since he has such a good "off switch"... and somehow already knew the couch was the comfiest spot to immediately claim! (We're teaching him to stay off furniture and ask first.) He will come to you and bump your hand to let you know when he needs something.
Dean can be nervous around new things, but he's a thinker and does just fine if given some space to figure things out. He wants to get along, and he will relax as trust is built. He needs people who will recognize when he's starting to get nervous and have the patience to let him sort it out w/o being pressured. Dean needs people that let him take things nice and slow at first.
Dean is a good boy who really wants to be a solid citizen and is well-behaved and easy to be around. We're seeing his sweet, smart, goofy personality blossom more and more each day!
