Meet Deedee
Deedee belongs to the ancient Saluki breed, often revered as the "Royal Dog of Egypt." This breed's regal heritage is evident in Deedee's graceful posture, long, slender legs, and the elegant arch of her neck. With a silhouette that hints at the swift and agile hunters Salukis once were, Deedee possesses a fine, silky coat, which can either be smooth or feathery, especially on her ears, tail, and the back of her limbs. The color of her coat varies, but her deep, expressive eyes are always a focal point, giving away her intelligence and keen perception.
Salukis, like Deedee, are known for their incredible speed, making them one of the fastest dog breeds. Yet, contrary to their athletic prowess, Salukis are often calm and reserved in the home. Deedee is no exception. She enjoys long stretches of relaxation and is content lounging on her favorite soft spot, showcasing her inherent dignified demeanor. However, given the opportunity to stretch her legs in an open space, Deedee's ancient hunting instincts kick in, and she can reach impressive speeds with seemingly little effort.
Bonding closely with her family, Deedee tends to be aloof with strangers but never aggressive. She carries a gentle spirit, making her an ideal companion for those who appreciate a dog that is both sophisticated in appearance and tender in nature.
In terms of care, Deedee, like other Salukis, requires regular exercise to keep her fit and happy. Despite her thin coat, grooming is necessary, especially if she sports the feathery variety, to prevent matting and tangling. The breed is generally healthy, but regular veterinary check-ups are vital to ensure Deedee remains in her prime.
