******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat.
Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved.
If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs.
IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply.
If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board.
We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.
Dianna, 2yr old, spayed female, pit bull mix, 52lbs.
Dianna is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Dianna lives only with her foster mom, so she's not had much socialization around dogs once she was saved from the shelter.
Her foster mom has been working to introduce Dianna to other dogs - Dianna has done best outside the house but did get a bit barky and on guard of her home environment when the dog was brought into the house.
With time and more experience, we are confident Dianna will be comfortable sharing her home with a doggy sibling.
Dianna is prototypical pittie - athletic, high energy, fun-loving with lots of playful antics.
She loves to romp and roam, jump and play, especially with chew toys.
She is very high energy and does best in a harness because she loooooves being outdoors so she tends to pull.
Dianna is quite strong, so her foster mom is working hard with Dianna to improve her manners on the leash.
We have no history with cats.
Dianna has been around older kids - ages 10 and 13 years - and done well.
We recommend a home with kids 10 years or older, or those who can understand and will respect animal behavior cues.
Because of Dianna's energy and excitability, she may inadvertently knock over a small child.
Dianna is fully house trained and has only had an accident indoors when someone isn't paying attention to her signals of needing to go outside.
She does really well in the kennel and is fully trained in that regard.
Her foster mom crates Dianna when unable to supervise her because Dianna does like chewing on things, including every toy she comes across.
Dianna has not shown any issues with toys or treats, but does love to beg for food.
She has never met a stranger and loves all people, cuddling when calm and rubbing herself against your legs like a cat.
She "corn cobs" when excited, giving little nibble kisses.
She is a jumper but Dianna's foster has been working with her on this, too.
Dianna's ideal home would be someone who is breed experienced and is willing to provide structure and routine, putting in time training her.
She would do well with a young active couple, who would take her for walks or adventures.
She is very loving and wants to please.
***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown.
We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time.
