This young senior found herself urgent & on the euthanasia list at Fresno’s high kill shelter.
I had been following her posts so could NOT let her die.
So WELCOME Dutchess to The Ranch.
She is SAFE & already loved.
Named Dutchess in memorandum of our Duke that we lovingly helped over the rainbow bridge.
She joyfully runs to meet you, signing the song of her people, and dances in your presence.
She is a happy and loving young senior.
* DEAF
* female
* already spayed
* micro-chipped
* dental recently done
* fully vaccinated (rabies included)
* she has had surgery for both ears for ear hematomas
* minor food guarding (not with people but other dogs; very minor & easily managed)
* Good with everything.
She has been good with everything here at The Ranch (horses, goats, cats, other big dogs).
She does really seem to like small dogs (we will need to assess this interest more).
* approx.
9+ years young
* rt hip hitch, sometimes favors it (not since starting her daily joint supplements), has a fatty lump in this area that I think is unrelated (vet verified that it was benign)
* very sweet
* gentle on the leash, been taught to sit & wait at gates (no door dashing; threshold manners)
* doesn't crowd her food dish (sits and waits; threshold manners)
* takes treats ever so gently
* LOVES her squishy beds & soft blankets
* loves to follow you around & get pets
* she sits, stays, makes eye contact, knows her 'release' sign (she knows hand signals)
* pretty much deaf
* tons of personality
* vocal but in a silly & happy way (she tells you about her day)
* independent but likes to hang around her person
* hates the sweaters I lovingly put on her when it is cold (haha)
