Meet Ella, a sweet 5-month-old pup who's had a rough start but is flourishing in her foster home! Despite her anxiety at the scary shelter, Ella showed the staff that she was very affectionate.
She has quickly adapted to her foster home, showing impressive skills like leash manners, giving alternating paws, and mastering sit and down commands.
Ella's an intelligent girl who adores treats, which makes training a breeze.
While crate training is ongoing, Ella is already a pro at snuggling up in the car during road trips with her foster siblings.
Ella is also learning that there's plenty of love to go around in her foster family, including three resident shepherds and Jouska, our other rescue puppy, who stayed with them for six days until her current foster home was ready for her.
In typical shepherd fashion, Ella follows her people from room to room, settling in for cat naps while they do household chores.
Her foster home also has a couple of kitties; we'll soon have an update on how she might fare with felines.
Currently recovering from spay surgery, Ella visited the vet this week to be treated for an ear infection.
She was a trooper during her visit before heading home with meds.
This snuggle bug looks forward to finding her forever home, where she can grow and spread lots of joy.
As with all of our puppies, please consider applying for Ella if you have experience raising shepherds or similar intelligent working breed dogs.
They require physical and mental exercise, structure, training, and extensive environmental exposure to become neutral adult dogs.
