Meet Esme
Esme is a TINY yet beautiful six-year-old pure-bred Bengal cat from an award-winning cattery in the Pacific Northwest. When the cattery owner fell ill, we stepped in to help Esme and others, and we brought Esme to a loving and experienced foster home.
She has been in foster now for six weeks, and her foster family is delighted to have gotten to know her better. Here’s what they want us to share about Esme:
-Esme has GREAT litter box habits.
-She loves to follow her foster mom throughout the house and sing for pets and kisses.
-Esme is truly an excellent companion! She likes to curl up in a blanket next to humans for afternoon naps and movie-time on the couch.
-Esme can be independent, but she does love affection and attention. She will allow short amounts of time to be held and carried.
-She can be a “SPICY” girl and needs regular play time as most Bengals do. She will roll on her back to signal for play time.
-At times, she may get excited and gently nip, but that is only when she wants to play.
-Esme is very good at communicating when she wants to be loved on vs. when she wants to play (i.e. by rolling on her back).
Due to her history being underweight, she will sniff out any and all food (including human food), so food cannot be left out, and portion control is important to ensuring she stays healthy. She currently eats 6 oz of wet food per day (half portions being in the morning and late afternoon).
