Meet Ford
Meet Ford, an 8-year-old male Husky mix. Ford got his name because that is the type of car that hit him. He was picked up by animal control and brought to the clinic for treatment. Ford is doing well but would be much happier in his forever home. Ford is a friendly, curious boy who walks well on leash for our staff and public dog walkers.
Although he is technically a senior, he didn't get the memo and still has lots of life and a fair amount of energy so he should be around for many years to come. Ford keeps a clean kennel and tries his best to be a good boy. As a Husky, he does require brushing, but he isn't totally used to it, so we have to give him breaks in between sessions. If you can't tell Ford is a character and much loved here at the shelter, he is happy to get attention but would love to have a family that can give him a yard to relax in. A fenced in yard is a must, we never want this boy out in the street again, he doesn't look both ways. Be ready for some zoomies and happy dances when you meet him, he is a character and so much fun to be around! Ford cannot live with cats or chickens, as he seems to think they are food, not friends!
Ford is currently available for adoption at the Ellensburg Animal Shelter.
A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.
