Are you right for Fox?
Fox will need time to warm up to you, but once he has gained in confidence he is very affectionate and enjoys sitting in-between you on the sofa. Fox will need owners who are experienced with the breed or are will to do their breed research as he very much enjoys to hound around- he loves his adventures and has oodles of energy! He needs active owners who have an interest in training and will be able meet his mental and physical needs- he will keep his new family on their toes and they will need to appreciate his breed quirks. He can walk lovely on lead but forgets himself at times and be very strong, Fox will need to be kept on lead at all times when out and about on his walks as he prefers to follow his nose most of the time. He is an intelligent boy and can be an escape artist and knows how to open some doors- he can also be a bit of an opportunist and steal almost anything that takes his fancy. Fox was previously housetrained but any time left alone will need to be built up very, very gradually leaving him with his favourite things to do to keep him busy (Such as peanut butter stuffed kongs!). He could live with older teens who are comfortable with lively dogs but will also give him space when needed. Fox could potentially live with another dog in his new home after a successful meet at the centre- the other dog will need tolerate his OTT play. Fox would prefer access to his own secure garden where he can explore and play his favourite games with his new family (especially if they're scent based games).
Is Fox right for you?
Fox is a sweet lad who is not as confident as he seems. He will need patient owners who will be understanding of some of his quirks. He can be uncomfortable by intense veterinary handling and will need to be muzzled for this- he learns quickly that he gets yummy treats and has fun during his training.
