Meet Frankie
With droopy eyes that tell tales of ancient wisdom, and ears that seem to never end, Frankie epitomizes the Basset Hound's unique charm. Descending from a line of French hunting dogs, the Basset Hound is distinguished by its sturdy build, short legs, and keen sense of smell—second only to the Bloodhound.
Frankie, in particular, has a coat of rich, tricolor shades, ranging from deep mahoganies to velvety blacks and pristine whites, which glistens in the sunlight and feels velvety to the touch. Each step he takes is accompanied by the gentle flap of his ears, and when he sits, those short, yet powerful legs splay out in an adorable display of relaxed posture.
Despite his hunting lineage, Frankie is every bit the gentle domestic companion. He possesses an endearing combination of laziness and bursts of playful energy. His expressive eyes seem to always be asking for one more treat or perhaps another round of belly rubs.
While his deep, melodic bark might be mistaken for the grumblings of a much larger dog, it's often reserved for those rare occasions when something truly intrigues him or when he believes he's on the trail of an interesting scent. This is the Basset's nature: a blend of regal calmness with an ever-present undercurrent of curiosity.
