Gabby

Gabby is precious.

Just a puppy, perhaps eight months old?

Gabby was part of a pack of dogs that were literally fending for themselves on a vacant lot.

When volunteers spotted the dogs, they followed the dogs down an alley to a homeless encampment.

The dogs would get tossed scraps of food and had access through the fence to the house that backed up to the encampment.

When we knocked on the door of the house, a woman who answered and begged us to "take them all" as the dogs would come and go and they were not hers.

The following week, we returned to the property with humane traps and lots of kennels.

Gabby was too nervous to be leashed, but she followed the trail of food right into the trap.

Gabby was born under the house back in August.

There were 12 pups and she was the last remaining.

"I have no idea where the others went...." the woman explained.

Today Gabby is thriving in foster.

She was terrified initially, as she would shake like a leaf and belly crawl to you, wanting to trust, just lacking in confidence.

Gabby gets along with dogs, and she now approaches people with a tail wag and a cute little body wiggle.

Gabby is adorable and beautiful.

She loves to play ball!! Big balls, little is a baller! She will make a wonderful companion.

Gabby is kennel trained, potty trained and walks great on a leash.

Her foster family has a few cats and we do believe she would be able to coexist with cats.

She is very excited to see them and proper intro would be needed.
