We don't know all the details, but Gentleman Jack has been through the wringer. At age 14, when he should be comfortably cuddled up in a warm home with people who love him. Instead, Animal Haven picked him up from a nearby municipal shelter after he was found as a stray. His ears have been crudely cropped and he's got scars from unknown wounds. Jack was severely underweight when he arrived, but has already put back on a few healthy pounds in our care.
He tends to like the company of most other dogs and really enjoys attention from people. Understandably, Jack has shown some stress behaviors in our shelter. While he's remarkably resilient, the shelter environment is no place for a 14-year-old senior.
This handsome gentleman is up for adoption, but whether it may be a fospice situation is still up in the air. Gentleman Jack just had surgery to remove several tumors. We're not sure if they're cancerous, we've sent them off for a full cytology, which should give us more insight into his long-term prognosis.
Either way he is available for adoption and would make a great addition to most homes.
