Meet Gigi
All of Gigi's favourite things start with a "P"
People, Playing and Pleasing you with her knowledge of obedience cues!
This sweet girl was found stray by Hamilton Animal Services and not claimed but has clearly been a member of someone’s family.
She wants to please and has mastered her basic commands. She walks well on leash although on occasion she pulls and reacts to the occasional strange dog. She is reserved at first with new people but warms up with time. She is a volunteer favourite.
She would benefit from positive reinforcement training to help build a strong bond with her family. And her family will need to give her consistent, positive socialization to help build her confidence with new people and dogs.
She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her core vaccinations. We don’t know her age or breeding but believed to be about 4 or 5 years old and a Boxer mix breed.
Her specific adoption criteria include:
- a detached home and a family who is home more than not
- a home where there are no young children and she would be the only pet, at least initially until she gains confidence
- a family knowledgable with the breed would be an asset.
- family willing to do positive reinforcement training and socialize her at her pace
